Hello, and thanks for joining me on Week 6 of this 10 week beginner yoga journey as we follow the yogic teachings of Ruth Bender!

I am Amy Nesbitt, RYT-200, and I am so excited to be sharing this work with you! This week I am "on location" at Day Pond State Park in Colchester, CT at the majestic Day Pond Brook Falls! I decided to film the warm-up's here!

This video was inspired by Ruth Bender's book, "Yoga Exercises for Every Body," published in Avon, CT back in 1975. Ruth was a beloved Connecticut Yoga Teacher & Author who taught many! Her clear and concise teaching make it easy for a beginner to follow along in a thorough, yet relaxed manor. See the amazon reviews for her book (below)! The work has helped many, and is more relevant today than it was 40+ years ago!

This work is amazing for warming up the entire body, to learn basic key strengthening exercises & balances for yoga postures (or asanas), as well as compartmentalized breath-work, guided relaxation, Yoga Nidra and more! :)

Each week I will upload my interpretations of her teachings through my channel. 4 more weeks of increasingly challenging work for mind, body and spirit!

My work as a teacher has been profoundly affected by her teachings, and this has inspired me to share her work with you through these weekly videos! It is my offering to the collective consciousness!

Leave any questions you may have in the comments section below and I will be sure to answer them!

Remember to use a YOGA STRAP &/or a YOGA BLOCK to assist your practice if needed. Week 3 -5's videos incorporates these PROPS to show you how to integrate them into your practice to assist in deepening postures, as well as how to "clean" up your alignment during practice. Props will help assist you throughout your yoga journey!
